Michelle Marie Sawtell is a powerhouse multidisciplinary Boston-based visionary artist. Her work spans sustainable personal styling, fine art photography, and music. With a vision rooted in authenticity and autonomy, Michelle explores the intersections of conscious aesthetics, visual storytelling and sound. Michelle’s creative practice centers on the belief that art is not confined to a single medium; instead, it is a holistic expression of identity, emotion, and lived experience.
Michelle’s sustainable personal styling reflects a commitment to ethical practices by helping individuals express their truest selves through mindful choices and intentional wardrobe curation. Michelle has been a professional Boston based personal stylist since 2018. She has worked for companies including Athleta, Loft, Marine Layer and is currently a personal stylist and visual merchandiser for Faherty Brand. Michelle has had the honor of styling musicians for shows, every day folks for events and photo sessions, friends, family and of course herself. Michelle just loves helping people find their own unique style. She is delighted to assist and empower you through fashion.
Michelle’s fine art photography captures intimate narratives, translating mood and symbolism into enduring visual form. Michelle's love for photography began at a very early age, The concept of looking through a lens of a camera to capture a moment in time was so enchanting. Thanks to a family friend at Polaroid, Michelle’s childhood was filled with cameras and a special thrill came in the early ’90s when she got to test and keep a prototype i-Zone, sticker camera years before it was released, All through high school you could find Michelle working at a camera shop or walking around campus with her Pentax manual 35mm film camera. Michelle really enjoyed taking photography classes on composition, developing, and printing B&W film. There was something quite magical about seeing her images come to life in the darkroom. Michelle is widely known for her nature and wildlife fine art photography, alongside a career spanning over a decade documenting the Boston live music scene.

Through her music, Michelle creates immersive sonic landscapes that invite introspection and connection. Michelle has been singing and performing since the age of 2 but it wasn't until 2015 that she decided to embark on her professional music journey. Michelle captivates listeners with magnetizing high vibrations of joy, inspiration and total empowerment. Her projects include Michelle Marie Sawtell a Rock project and Sound Goddess Healing, an Electronic, Experimental Pop project.
As the founder of Sovereign Artist LLC, Michelle merges craftsmanship, sustainability, and sovereignty into a unified creative ethos. Her work encourages others to embrace their own authenticity, live consciously, and see art not only as something to consume but as something to become.
