Michelle draws her inspiration from multiple genres including rock, blues, country, pop, reggae & world music. Her music projects include Michelle Marie Sawtell a Rock Project and Sound Goddess Healing, an Electronic, Experimental Pop, World Beat project. She brings a commanding lead vocal presence and a grounded, authentic tone to every track, Michelle Marie Sawtell focuses on delivering raw, powerful root vocals and honest storytelling. Her performance anchors the main melody and gives each joint release a definitive, unforgettable identity and authentic feel. 

 

Michelle has collaborated and co-produced music with multi-instrumentalist producer Van Gordon Martinof John Brown's Body, G. Love & The Juice, Organically Good Trio, and Dub Apocalypse. She has also collaborated with drummer Dean Johnston of Club d'Elf and Neighbor; drummer and studio sound designer Jeff Allison, who has worked with Peter Gabriel, played with Vapors of Morphine, and currently performs with American Beauties, Sado-Domestics, The Ghost Truckers, and Mule Variations; legendary harmonica player Jim Fitting, a veteran of Treat Her Right and The The who currently plays with Session Americana; and masterful engineer Will Holland of Chillhouse Studios in Boston, MA. Additionally, Michelle had the honor of opening for Hayley Jane at the Unifier Music Festival in 2019.
